A breakage in the fiy-whsel in the Kangaroo mine killed the. engine-driver, a man named Adams, and wrecked the engine-h-ouja and machinery. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, September 18. 'the inquest on the body of Mary Liddiurd, who died in Miss McElwaiu's hairdressing rooms, that he found symptoms' of poisoning by cyanide of pot-aecium, but before giving a definite statement he desired to submit csstaiu organs to the public analyst. The inquest- was adjourned for that purpose. CARTERTON, September 18. The body of an elderly man, supposed to be that of Peter Jackson, was found last night, washed ashore, at Wairarapa Lake, near Pirinoa. The body was brought to Martinbcrougli.
