AUCKLAND, May 17.
The prompt steps taken by Dr Purdy appear to have had a satisfactory result, as no further cases of'acute septicaemia have been reported. As soon as the first case was discovered, men were sent out to Point Chevalier to get the isolation hospital ready in case extra accommodation was required for patients.
WELLINGTON,- May 17. Dr Makgill left for Auckland this mom ing to investigate the suspicious cases.
