At a meeting of the Otago and ".Southland Licensed Victuallers* Association, it was xesolved to respect fuKv ask the incoming Licensing' Committee "that- 10 o'clock be fixed as the hour at which hotels should close in. Dunedin Sou?h. Dunedi*i. Caversham, and Port Chalmess. With respect to tlie election of a licensing committee a motion w_as passed that in justice to the community the Licensing Committee- should embrace an equal propnrtion of men who represent the moderate and no license sections, aiul with a view to securing harmony and avoiding unnecessary expense to the ■public, the secretary request an interview with the leaders of the no iicer.se party to secure.that object.
