INQUEST.
The inquest on the body of Robert Bell, junior, was held at Pukaki on Monday, before Mr W. P. Studholme, J.P., ActingCoroner, and a jury of four : —Messrs John McArthur (foreman), Reginald Munro, John Cameron, and Thomas Tindall.
Evidence was given by Robert Bell, publican,'who identified the body as that of his son; by F. T. Clark, who found the body about miles below the lake; and by Sarah Bell, who told what she knew "about the accident. She heard screams, and from the stable ran to the spot, but was delayed by the barb wire fence. When she reached the bank she saw James Kennedy sink for the last time. She did not see Robert Bell. She found the boys' clothes where they had left them. The jury gave their verdict as " accidentally drowned while bathing in Lake Bukaki."
