NOTES ON THE TEST MATCH
United Press Association—Per Electrio Telegraph—Copyrigut. Received 11.16 a.m., January 24th. SYDNEY. January 24. The " Herald " says that the win in the test match was a notable victory for the Australians under conditions that were equal, or, if .anything, favoured the visitors, who had the first use of the wicket. The loss of Barnes was set off by three of the best Australians being crippled. The " Telegraph " rays that it was a very creditable victory; indeed, it was not boastful to say that the victory was accountable to something more than mere luck.
The match between the Tiimru Cricket Club and country nondescripts will be played on the Athletic Grounds this afternoon, c mmencing at 2 o'clock. The following will represent the country team v. Timarn to-dav :—Brown, Feilden. Gedde-, Goldstnne, Sfndholme, Wright. Tiipvt, Sealev. Webb, Wiglev, Howell innf Dalgleish. ■ ' "
