The Bishop of Melanesia has arrived at Sydney, from a trip round his extensive islands dioce-e. The islanders are all of line physique, wearing hair down to the waist. The tallest, men were six feet seven inches. On his return journey he found the island suffering from famine and numbers dying,. He was compelled to remove the teachers and give what relief was possible. After a. short stay here Bishop Wilson proceeds to England to buy the new missinr vp-."'' . Received 10.24 a.m., January' 24th. .January 2&. The Bishop of Melanesia considers thai, the Federal legislation dealing with coloured labour will hasten the work of christianising and civilising the islanders. The returned islanders would carry with them the effects of education and christian teaching.
