The members of the Timaru Rifles fired last evening for trophies. • presented by Messrs "Benjamin and Co., -and the.first stage of Lieutenant Wood's The conditions were 10 shote <at 600 yards. Private Toneysliffe put up a record for the range by putting on 48 out of a-possible 50. His score read* thus :— r 5,5,5,'5,'5,4,5,5,4,5. Private Toneydgffe takes Messrs Benjamin's prize.
