Messrs Middleton and Lyons, agents for Wirth Brothers' Royal Circus, are making the necessary preliminary arrangements for the company's opening here. -Owing to important engagements made in. advance, the circus will only give one performance in Timaru, which will take place on "Wednesday next, January : 9th. In these extensive tours a keen look-out has been constantly kept for human and equine talent, and many notable additions have been secured. A menagerie has been built up by collecting animals in various countries, and \is one of the interesting features _ of fhe show. It includes performing tigers from "India, lions from Africa, bears from the -Himalayas and "Russia, ourang-outangs from Borneo, a bucking elephant from Java, and a most interesting pair of boxing ponies, which box three rounds in the most approved fashion.
