United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph— Copyright. Received December 13th, 1.10 a.m. Sydney, December 11. The conference of lumpers and stevedores was a failure. The masters demanded unconditional surrender of the men. At a meeting of the latter tonight, the general opinion waß against a strike. The meeting passed a resolution instructing the members to work with anyone who recognised their rules, and also instructed winchmen who are working alongside non-unionists on certain vessels to B ive 24 hours notice to rescind their engagement. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, December 12. The Auckland Conciliation Board sat to-day at the Supreme Court m committee, considering the Auckland statement m connection with the bootmakers' industrial dispute. A recommendation will probably be made one day this week. A recommendation on the Taranaki statement will be made shortly.
