PRESBYTERIAN BAND OF HOPE.
o . Tbe Trinity Presbyterian Chu'oh Hani of Hope brought its winter session to a dose on Friday by a most enjoyable entertainment of songs and reoitstions, io Barnard Street Hall, which was well filled with visitors. The Bey. W. Gillies presided, A contingent from the Oullmanntown Band of Hope assisted their young friends of Trinity, and between them a long and varied programme was gone through. Sixteen recitations wers given, some of them by very little folks, but all of them m good style, to tbe delight of tbe audience. The reciters were Bertha MoOahon, Floßsie Johnston, Aggio Pearson, Mary Bartlett, Nellie Anderson, Ljdia Oraigie, Jessie Jessie Mcßrido, Carrie Pearson , Jeacnie Anderson, Alice Gillies and Jessie Murray, Herbert Ingram, Alexander b'cott, D Stuart, F Stuart, and W AndenoD. The singers were Annie Gilchrist, Jeannie Anderson; Alice Campbell, Nellie Mo^ay and Jeannie Murdook, all of whom aoquitted themselves well. A trio with appropriate action was aung by three little girls. Joanr.ia -teveneon, Jeannie Anderson a-:d Marion Walker. Thoy bad each a doll and m >«t ruccessfally played tbe part of little mothers Another trio was capitally rendered with suitable action by the Misses Roskina (2) and Bartlett. A dust ia oharao.'er by Jeannie D3nn and Sarah Finla? ea<?e great amusement. Two hymns veru also- nioely rendered by the Oullmanntown Band of Hope oboir. Bo«ie Sutherland played a pianoforte solo, and Alioe Campbell with violin wae accompanied by Miss Evans. Tho Misses Dorm, Bvans, Strachah and MoOullough slao sang solos, aud Miss MoOullough and her. brother a duet. The evening was one of thorough enjoyment, the young folks showing a wonderful ability m each department, and proving themselves excellent entertainers. WWe a'l did so well, it would be invidious to make spcoial mention of any. Trinity Band of Hope is to be congratulated on the great success of the evening's entertainment.
