TEMUKA ROAD BOARD.

I Tho regular monthly meeting of the Temuka Road Board was held yesterday. Present-r-Monsra Talbot (chairman), Snell, Bissett and Eraser. accounts. 'Iho oversoer was instructed to attend to the matter. From Mr R. Taylor, of Geraldine, covering cheque for £14 for work done on Tajlor's road, also drawing attention to tho work still nocossary. Tho overseer explained that tbo portion complained of was soft, as it bad previously contained a spring bole, and that the oxtont of road affected was about a chain and a half. — He was instructed to attend to the matter. From tho Postal Department, re postal guide. I It wos decided to procure a copy. Prom tho County Council, covoring statement of expenditure m connection with tbe Rangitata-Orari water race. From Mr James Hay, forwarding £6 Is 2d, rates due on account of tho late Mr Wadsworth'a proporty, and requesting that tho several properties, formerly owned hy Mr Wadßworth, and sold to Mra Fitzgerald, ond Messrs Hansen and Watling, migbt bo transferred to the purchasers on the rate roll. Tho clerk receivod instructions to attend to tho matter. From ths Hoapital and Charitablo Aid Board, requesting that the board's contribution, amounting to £144 Is Gd, might be paid into tbe Bank of New Zealand at an early date. Tbe amount was passod for payment. OVEBSEEE'S -ErOBT. The overseer reported that tho ford at Ibo Oxford bridge was fairly passable. Ho bad not received any communication from Mr R. Thomas on tho subject. Improvements could be made by a small outlay on tho north aide of the ford. The overseer was instructed to prepare specifications of tbe work required, and it wn« deoided that tbe board should offer to do tho work provided Mr Thomas wns prepnrcd to bear half ■ the cost, as be waa principally ictereated. Tbo overaeer further reported that tho Geraldino County Council had granted Mr T. Palmer a slaughtering liconse m reaped of a section near his houso, subject to tbo approval qf tho board. — Tbo overseer was instructed to view tbp place, and if aijitablp tp notify the oonncil. TENDKBB. Tho following tenders wero received :— Contract No. 15— Shingling and'part formation Stewart's rond — W. Hopkinson, £32 10s (accepted) ; E. Connihnn, £33 15s ; P. O'Mara, £38 2s Od. It was resolved to accept Mr Woodley'e offor to keep clear tha drain on Toner's road for sixpence por chain por year. Ihe board then rose.
