THE MIDLAND RAILWAY.
♦ (By Teleghaph.) CnaiSTCtiuncn, Sept. 23. A number of the guarantors to tho Kast and West Coast Railway met to-day for the purpose of welcomine Mr A. Scott, and to arrange other business connected with the guarantee. Mr C. 0. Bowen presided, and Mr Sclanders, chairman of tho Nelson guarantors, was olbo present. It was unanimously resolved that tho repayment of expenses payablo by tho company to the guarantors be accepted by the committeo m paid up shares of the company. It was also resolved that a largo and influential committee bo appointed to make arrangements for a banquet to Mr 9cott. Tho meeting was of a very unanimous and enthusiastic character.
