The "Wellington men, who were keen favourites, scored a goal and a try m the first five minutes. Later on another try was obtained. Mclntyre took all the kioks, and though he missed the first by a foot, scored two goals from the others. In the second spell the local men ran through the others, and kept them continually on the defensive, varied by short bursts on the part of the Sydney playors. Some six or seven tries were obtained, but only one was allowed, from which no goal was kicked.
