» ■■ '- (By Telequaph.) Wellington, Sept. 1. The Government has received tbe following cable mejjage from the jige&t-General, relating to the Midland Bailway : — " Midland. First contract signed, twenty-five miles, Stillwater to Teremakau. First issue ahare9 placed. Hoare loaves end September via San Francisco." The Mr Hoare alluded to is one of the directors of the Midland Bailway Company, and also a director of Lloyds, Barnet, and Bosanquet's Bank, London.
