TIMARU HIGH SCHOOL BOARD.

A mooting of tho Board was held yesterday at tho .Secretary's office MEMBP.nS rnnSENT. The Yen. Archdeacon Harper (Chairman), and Messrs J. 11. Sutler, J. Tulbot., W. Balfour, W. M. Tho Chairman stated information had boon received from the Government to the effect that, the sum of £200, the balanco of the grant m aid of thp institution, had been placed to tho credit of tho Board. £50 had been left by tbo late Captain Cain as a legacy to the school and had been paid into the bank. He understood Captain Cain meant the money to bo devoted to prizes to be arranged by the Board. VACANT BEAT. A letter was read from tho Secretary to the Education Department advising that the recommendation m regard to the filling of tho seat rendered vacant by tho resignation of the Rev. William Gillies would bo carefully considered. EBSEHYES. Tho report of tho Committee on the leasing of reserves was read, but the Board decided it Bhould not be published.

OUTSTANDING VKE3. The Secretary staled a number of pirents had not paid their fees f.>r the past year. Proposed by Mr Goldsmith, seconded byMr Sutter, ami carried— "That tho Secretary be instructed to sue at on.-o for all outstanding fees unpaid for 1855." ACCOUNTS. Accounts amounting to £197 Gs -Id, were passed for payment, and tho meeting adjourned.
