GERALBINE SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

The usual monthly meeting of tho Geraldine School Committee was held m the schoolroom on Friday, the 26th last. Present — messra N. Dunlop (Chairman), B. S. Cook and A. Sherratt. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The following correspondence was read and considered : — From the Board of Education, enquiring how many meetings of the Committee had been held during the past year, and the nama of the Secretary. One had been accepted, and the work had been faithfully carried out. The Masters report showed that Uieaverago attendance for the past four weeks had been 189, and suggested that aa the average for the quarter ended 31st March would be over 185, au application bo made to the Board to appoint Mr Erskine, who had completed his pupil teacher's course and gained a certificate as second master. The Committee decided to apply to tho Board to appoint Mr A. Erskine second master. Resolved—" That Mrs Stonehouao bo paid 5s for the cleaning of tlio new class room, and Is a week extra remuneration for performing the work regularly. Accounts to the amount of £3 4s Gd were passed for payment, after which the meeting terminated.
