RUSSIA AND AFGHANISTAN.
A BETTLEMENJ_ ARRIVED AT. PEACE ASSURED. (Pee Electric Telegraph —Copyright. ) (Reptee's Agency.) [Received 1.10 a.m., June lst.J London, May 31. The reply of the Russian Government to the proposals of the English Foreign Office were received yesterday and the contents have been made public. An arrangement has been come to whereby Maruchak and the Zulfikar Pass shall remain m the possession of Afghanistan. The work of the Commission now only includes the details of delimitation, the main points having already been fixed.
(By Telegraph.) WELLINGTON, June 1. The Government have received an intimation that Rusßia has accepted the proposals of England and that peace is assured.
