Wheat, Adelaide, is la lower, viz., 35s per 4961b5, ex store ; New Zealand is at 28s to 345. Flour, Adelaide, 26s per 2801bs, ex store. The total quantity of wheat afloat for the United Kingdom is 2,990,000 quarters, a decrease of 70,000 quarters during the week. New Zealand mutton, od. Australian tallow — beef, 295, mutton, 31s. A part of the Ruapehu's cargo of frozen meat is soft and spotted, and is selling from 3id to 5d per pound. The meat by the Tafnui ia selling at s|d. The shipment of grapes by the steamers Orient and Pekin are m good condition, and the pears by the same vessels are excellent. (Received 1.15 p.m., May 30th.) The various Agents-General and a number of merchants have waited upon the Government and urged them to modify the existing duties on colonial wines. General Graham m his despatches commends the general order maintained by the New South Wales contingent, and he states that by their action a bright example has been shown of the latest military strength of the Empire, and that the soldierly spirit shown by them was a theme of universal admiration.
