COLLISION IN MANUKAU HARBOR.
Auckland, May 3. A collision occurred at two o'clock this (Sunday) morning m Manukau harbor. The Herald left for Greymonth at ten o'clock on Saturday night, and proceeded down the harbor. When four mues down she was met by the Gareloch, from Waitara. Captain McArthur conld see the Herald bearing down on his vessel, and reversed the engines, but too late, as the Herald came stem on to the Gareloek's starboard bow with a dreadful crash, denting and cracking her plates nearly to the water's edge, raising the forecastle head, and straining tho vessel, which is making a good deal of water now. After getting clear, the Herald moved on down the harbor, and the Garelooh proceeded on to Onehunga wharf. Her damage is estimated at .£IOOO.
