Wrli.ingt«'N, ■' chilmr 17 At the Police Court a boy named Stevens was charged with the larceny of £1 from a little boy named Barnard Reston. • eston was Bent out by his mother to got change for a pound note. On his return accused saw him, and forcibly took the money from him Mr Stevens, the father of the neensed, stated that he was absolutely unable- to do anything with the boy. His Worship told the accused that, despite everything that had been done, he seomed determined to ko to the bad, He (His Worship) was just as determined to Rinp him. Ho would, therefore, sentence him to receive 12 strokes from a birch rod, and to be sent to tho Burnham Industrial School until ho was 15 years of ace. His Worship instructed , ergeant-Miijor Rnmsoy to ew|iiiro as to whether the lad's father ivas able to con tribute towards his support.
