A PAINFUL ACCIDENT.
Dunedin, October 17. Ma J. H, Kerr, of Sawyer's Bay, met with a rather serious accident on Monday, which might have, been.attended with even more serious consequeaces. He was speaking to someone and at the same time polishing some roller raaohihery, when suddenly his fingors were entangled in the ironwork. His piercing cries so alarmed one of the girls employed near-the bones of his hand were being rapidly crushed—that she proceeded to rush away, and in her hurry struck some bolting with her arm, which happily becoming displaced caused an immediate stoppage of the mnchiuory. Mr Kerr was speedily extricated from his perilous position and proceeded to Dunedin, where his injurios were attended to.
