INVASION OF BURMA.
ACROSS CHINESE FRONTIER. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. DELHI, Dec. 4. The Burmese Government has received information that a member of the ex-Royal family, who is a refugee in China, is collecting men and ammunition in the Chinese Shan -State, with a view to raiding Burma. He is fostering a rebellion among the Ka-. chins. On the 4th instant the Tienhoung post, consisting of 50 military police, was attacked- by 40 Chinese Shans. The attack Was repulsed, the enemy Staving five dead. The Kachin villages are reported to be loyal. There is no reason to expect any widespread trouble. According to later news, all is quiet. The failure of the first attack apparently damped the enemy’s ardour.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
