LIKELY TO BECOME A WRECK. By Telegraph—Press .Assn.—Copyright. SYDNEY, Dec. 9. A wireless message reports that the steamer Bombala is ashoro on Salamander Reef, outside Townsville. The passengers were landed safely. Steamers are standing by. The Bombala. was en route to Queensland with a full cargo. Tho Bombala’s position is serious. Attempts to refloat her failed, and she is likely to become a total wreck. —Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn. VESSEL STRIKES DURING CALM. (Received Dec. 10, 10.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, Deo. 10. The Bombala struck during a calm* moonlight night. A further attempt is being made to refloat tho vessel today, after the cargo has been jettisoned.
