MR. MASTERS AT MIDHIRST. On account of the large attendance 50 or 60 people were unable to gain admission to tho hall in Midhirst on Thursday night to hear Mr. Masters. The candidate dealt exhaustively with tho question of disposal of the Dominion’s primary products during the war period, pointing out that through the incompetence of our politicians losses had accrued to tho producers of the produce exported. He stated that ho was out for a free and open market to secure for tho farmers the full value of their labours. In reply to a question by Mr. M'Moekan ho stated definitely he would not vote for a no confidence motion if moved by Mr. Holland, irrespective whether it was moved against the Reform or Liberal Party. He would strenuously oppose the Extreme Labour Party at every turn. At the conclusion Mr. E. Adlam moved and Mr. Ted Hancock seconded that this meeting has every confidence in Mr. Masters as being the most suitable person to represent this farming community in Parliament. CHRISTCHURCH, Deo. 5. Sir Joseph Ward addressed a crowded meeting of Ellesmere electors at Leoston to-night. Ho received a very attentive hearing. His speech was on the lines of Iris recent addresses in tho Ho strenuously denied a published statement that ho was in any way; whatever pledged to tho Red Feds. Ho. was tho only leader who had put up an: opponent against Mr. H. E. Holland and Mr. P. Fraser.
