NOTES FROM LONDON.

MORE PRODUCTION WANTED. TO REDUCE COST OF LIVING. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. (Received Nov. 11, 9.25 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. 9. Sir Auckland Geddes, speaking at Liverpooi, said the Government’s business in trade matters is to stand out of the way, but Stato control of coal was justified while the production was low. Intensive propaganda by the employers among the workmen would stimulate production as effectively as the war propaganda did recruiting. The fall in the value of money was hitting the workmen harder than anybody, inasmuch as on an average the increased wages did not quite compensate for the increased cost of living. NEGOTIATIONS WITH BOLSHEVIKS. LONDON, Nov. 10. Mr. Bonar Law stated that beforo negotiations were begun with the Bolsheviks tho House of Commons would have an opportunity for discussion on tho matter.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
