Cleraenceau’s Cabinet is interpreted to mean that M. Clemencoau will be a candidate for the presidency of the Republic in January. FRENCH STATE RESTAURANTS. TO PROVIDE CHEAP FOOD. (Received Nov. 12, 11.25 a.m.) PARIS, Nov. 10. In order to fight tho food profiteers the Government is opening national restaurants, where meals are served in specially erected wooden huts. Two francs is tho charge for a substantial and varied meal, without wine. The proprietors of ordinary restaurants complain that the stocks of American food which the Ministry hold constitute unfair competition.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
