Mrs. T. 'Willing, Bell Block, has received advice that her son, Private T. E. Willing, is returning by the Waimana, due about June 20.

Sir Albert Stanley has resigned the presidency of the Board of Trade, on account of illness, and Sir Auckland Geddes succeeds him. ,The Rev. Father James Patterson died on Tuesday night at Takapuna, where he had lived a retired life for some time owing to his advanced age. Mr. Reuben Peppered has been advised that ills son, C. E. Peppered, is returning on the troopship Waimaua, arriving at Auckland on June 20.

Vice-Admiral Ernest Gaunt has been made a Knight of the Bath. Admiral Sir David Beatty and Sir Douglas Haig have been appointed to the Order of Merit.
