INGLEWOOD CLUB. FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT. A very interesting combined doubles tournament under ideal weather conditions was played at the tennis courts on Thursday, many visitors being present. The following arc the scores: FIRST ROUND. N Hill and Mrs. Sutherland (receive 10) beat. Partridge and Mrs. Hill (receive 3), 30—26. Wagstaff and Mrs. Paterson (owe 10) beat Grant and M. Sutherland (receive 7), 41—39 . , Sutherland and Mrs. Partridge (owe 91 beat Eggleton and Mrs. Thompson, 39—37. ' Armstrong and Miss R. Esse (owe 5) heat G. Hamerton and Mrs. Nutting (scr.), 37—35. / Chis. Hamarton and Mrs. Bullard (owe 7) bent Williams and R. Renderson (receive 4), 38—36. ’ Eric Hamerton and Miss E. Hamerton (receive 9) beat E. Henderson and Miss Surrey'(receive-7), 30—27. , Stephenson and Bailey (receive 4) beat Greig and Miss Evans (receive 1), 30—23. SECOND ROUND. , Wagstaff and Mrs. Paterson beat Hill and Mrs. N. Sutherland, 40—23. Armstrong and Miss Esse heat Sutherland and Mrs. Partridge, 39—29. C. Hamerton and Mrs. Bullard beat B. Hamerton and Miss E. Hamerton, 37—‘26. Stephenson and Bailey a bye. SEMI-FINAL. Armstrong and Miss Esse beat Wagstaff and Mrs. Paterson, 40—38. C. Hamerton and Mrs. Bullard beat Stephenson and Bailey, 37—32. FINAL. C. Hamerton and Mrs. Bullard beat Armstrong and Miss Esse, 37—34. At the conclusion of the tournament Mr. J. Sutherland (president) presented trophies donated by himself to the winners. ' The club’s thanks are due to Mrs. Gibbs and Mias C. Hamerton, upon whose tea-day the function fell, and who catered successfully for the exlira number present.
