THE SALE OF FOOD ACT.
BREACH BY A GROCER. ,'PBB PRESS ASSOCIATION. WELLINGTON, Jan. 25. In the. Magistrate’s Court to-day a grocer was charged under the Sale of Food and Drugs Regulations with selling goods by weight without having plainly marked on the package the net weight end contents and the manufacturer’s name. Defendant had purchased honey in bulk and run it off into carton packages to save time in weighing. The magistrate, Mr. M’Carthy, held that the package was a sealed one, and came within the regulations. A fine of £5 was inflicted, and notice of appeal given.
