TIKORANGI JUBILEE.

CONCERT AND DANCE,

The Tiknrangi Hall was crowded to the doors on Wednesday evening, when the concert and dance arranged in connection with Hie jubilee, celebrations J took place. Tlio programme was a I splendid one. 'The vocalists were many I and included singers from New Rlyj mouth and Vaitara. Encores were . numerous and graciously responded to, i and this helped considerably to lengthen the programme, but nevertheless there was .still a feeling of disappointment amongst many when tlio I last item was announced. The Waitara j Brass Band was a feature of the ovenJ ing ,s gathering, their ronu ihiuions to } the programme being very much appreciated. The New IMymouth parly included .Miss Cant, Mosdamcs Dntrv and Golding. Messrs. Asher, Lovell. Vinson and Golding, and from Waiiara Mbs •1011, Mrs. Allen, Messrs. Day and Mbyte. Mr. .Smith contributed a eor- j net solo. Captain Allen. Vd Ngaere. Contributed several recitations and at ' the close of the last, “Tile Absent- i irhndeci Beggar,” a collection in aid of I the Belgian Fuad was taken up and the fine sum of £tj 11s was hamlet] in. ft was generally agreed that never before has the Tikoraugi public had such a j programme of such merit placed before ! them. Every item was a treat ami ! every performer is to he heartily eon- j gratulated. A dance followed the eoneerr, the music being kindly supplied by Mr. M ray. .Mr. Robinson was M.C. The mm mi t too wish to thank their many friends for the generous help given them, and the ladies of the district aro deserving of thanks for the abundance of supper provided.. The total takings amounted to £2l os.
