LEPPERTON.

FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT. April *2B.—'The annual meeting of tho parishioners ot St. Mark's Church took place this evening, there being only a Ismail .attendance. The weather was responsible for this. I think. The financial position to March 31 still shows a small credit balance. The old committee were re-elccid. An expression of condolence was made with regard to the late Mr. T. Giddy, who was once a valued member of our committee and choir. Lepporton ladies, who are running a stall at the \Vaitara Carnival, have been working assiduously for some time past, with the result that they have a ready nice assortment of goods. I predict big tilings for the Lepporton stall. I understand n monster Belgian concert will take place, here shortly, run by Now Plymouth performers. Extensive repairs to tho water wheel at tho local factory will take place during the olf-scason. 1 very much regret to say that we are losing thc.Surman family from, this district, they having been the* class of settler that it is.hard to part with. The service at St. Mark’s Church on Sunday next will be in tho afternoon at 2.30 p.m., when tho vicar will be tho preacher.
