W.C.T.U.

The monthly meeting of the W.C.T.U. was held in tho Good Templar Lodgoruom on the last Wednesday in the month, with only a fair attendance of members. Correspondence from the New Zealand Superintendent of Good Citizenship re mayoral and councillor elections, also school committees, was read and discussed. A letter was read from the 1.0.G.T. inviting the members of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union to become free members, and give some assistance in the juvenile work; this was agreed to. The date for receiving the delegates’ reports of the Gisborne Convention was fixed for April 8. when there will be a social afternoon in tho lodge-room, and onen to non-members. A report of tho Willard picnic on February IT showed two now members had joined. , A home meeting hold at Sirs. Wickham’s, Hospital Road, was also reported.
