[lt is interesting to compare this list with the seven wonders as known to the Greeks. In those days the wonders were as follow:—Tho Pyramids of Egypt, the Hanging Gardens of Semiramis at Babylon, tho Temple of Diana at Ephesus, Phidias’s Statue of Jupiter at Athens, the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, the Colossus at Rhodes, and the Pharos, or lighthouse, at Alexandria.]
