POLICE GRIEVANCES. Par Press Association. DUNEDIN, May 1. Commissioner Cullen arrived in Dunedin this afternoon and subsequently had a conference with the members of the police force. The meeting was attended by 47 men and various matters were discussed. Commissioner Cullen says that no serious grievances were voiced here, and that the men, as a whole, seemed contented. Minor representations made to him will be placed before the Minister in conjunction with the representations from other centres. MR. FRASER AT WESTPORT. WESTPORT. May X. Mr. Fraser, Minister of Mines, was entertained at luncheon by the citizens to-day. Ho visited Soddonville in the aftereoon, where he received various deputations, one in regard to boring near the old Cardiff Company's property with a view to lengthening the life of the SeddonvHle State mine. The Minister promised to have this done immediately. This evening he received a largo number of deputations on local matters. His reply to the Chamber of Commerce, which asked that the construction of the Westport-Inangahna railway should bo expedited; was not encouraging, the Minister holding out little hope of a sum of money being placed on the Estimates this year, except to cover contracts already in hand. Mr. Fraser will leave in the morning for Nelson, en route to Wellington. REGISTRATION CANCELLED. WELLINGTON. May 1. Tlie registration of the Otago Trades and Labour Association under the Arbitration Act baa been cancelled.
