THE AMOKURA.
MR. HARP’S CHARGES. Per Frees Association. WELLINGTON, March 19. Mr. J. G. Harp, the publication of whose letter in a Hamilton paper resulted in an inquiry into the alleged maltreatment of boys on the.-Amo-kura, interviewed the Minister of Marino to-day, and asked for the assistance of counsel. This was refused, but he was assured that he could visit the ship and would bo afforded every facility in connection with the inquiry. His evidence will be taken to-morrow evening.
Mr. Campbell, late second officer of the Amokura, will arrive from the north to-morrow, and will be examined.
The inquiry is unlikely to conclude before the end of the week.
