NEW ZEALAND PRIZE-WINNERS. By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. SYDNEY, March 19. Mnranni was awarded championship honours in the thoroughbred class over four years. Apple Charlotte was similarly placed among marcs locally owned. New Zealand horses figured prominently in the Clydesdale classes. In the four-yfar-old class Alexander’s Pride was first and reserve champion, Glencoe second and Glenlyon third. In three-year-olds Baron Daimler was second. In colts under two years Baron Mercedes was first. In four-year-old mares Princess Fanny was first and champion, Rose second, and Flor afourth. In two-year-olds Goodhope was first. In the active stallion class (three years) Glenlyon was first. . SPEECH BY NEW GOVERNOR. (Received March 20, 9.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, March 20. Sir Gerald Strickland, the Governor, in opening the show declared that it was unrivalled on this, continent and famous throughout the world. Yesterday the attendance was a record. Fred Fairey (Nelson) secured first prize for fat ox in the Hereford class. A. J. Keith, another New Zealander, showed the champion fat cow,- which scaled 19251 b. SALE OE SHORTHORNS. (Received March 20, 10.15 a.m.) SYDNEY, March 20. At the show cattle sales prices were moderate. A number of Shorthorn cows on behalf of Williams, of Te Ante station, Hawke’s Bay, ranged to 65 guineas.
