A TROLLY COLLISION.

FOUR MEN KILLED. J3s Electric Tclegrapn.—-Copyricht. MELBOURNE, April 18. A train at Wnrburton crashed into a trolley containing sixteen men. Four men, named Poberdy, Hallam, Baxter and James, were killed, and several others wore injured. A portion of the Warbnrton lino was being re-laid, and the men were proceeding to work. The trolley was running down a deep incline near Wandin, and the rain made the lines slippery. The men lost control of the trolley, and ran on to a bridge just as the train from Warburton rounded a curve. There was no time to avoid a collision. All but four men jumped off before the oollison, but three of them were injured, two rather seriously. The others suffered from shock. Baxter’s body was carried some distance by the engine before it dropped over the bridge. He, Poberdy and James were recently arrived immigrants. The trolley was smashed to atoms, and the engine damaged.
