A COMMITTEE APPOINTED. Bv Electric Telegraph.—Copyright LONDON, April 18. Owing to increasing uneasiness at the enormous growth of expenditure, the House of Commons, at Mr. Lloyd George’s initiative, has appointed a select committee to examine the estimates. Mr. Lloyd George explained that the House had ceased to exercise control over expenditure, except in respect to defence.
