NEAV PLYMOUTH ORCHESTRAL UNION. Tho. public of New Plymouth, and more especially the supporters of This society, arc reminded or ilic concert to be held in Whiteley Hall on Thursday evening next. Tho holders of honorary members’ tickets are reminded that their tickets admit to two seats, and that they must bring their tickets with them. The programme ( will contain popular music, and will include tho overture to “Tancredi” (Rossini), selections from “Taiinhauser” (AA ngucr). ‘Ti Trovatoro” (Verdi), “William Toll” (Rossini), and “Boccaccio” (Suppc). These will be given by tho orchestra, which will be ol the same instrumentation as hitherto, and will bo under tho baton of their conductor, Air. C. H. Lawn. Tho vocal parts of tho programme will ho sustained by Airs. Barton (Aliss Birdie Butler), of Hawera, well known in the Auckland and Taranaki districts; also Air. J. Haslam and Air. H. Nixon. These names will assure the audience a*good evening’s entertainment by way'of first-class music. BIOGRAPH PICTURES TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY. Farmer, tho versatile comedian, was accorded a hearty reception in both bis turns. “Tho Registrar” as portrayed by him so amused tho audience that they refused to be content until bo again appeared in “Can’t You Take Aly AVord?” The second appearance of tin's clever comedian was the signal for a general* outburst of applause. After “The Barrister” had won general favour the demand for more was so persistent that Air.
