KILLED ON THE RAILWAY. . For Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 23. A railway ganger, while proceeding along Tiie- Christchurch-Ljttelton lino this morning at about 9 o’clock, lound the dead body of a man at a spot about a mile on the town side of tho Heathcote station. The body has been identified as that of Frank Molsom, about 4o years of age, a resident of Woolston, who leaves a wife and four children. Nothing definite has yet boon ascertained as to what happened to deceased, but it is surmised that he was a jrassenger by tho 10.50 p.m. train from uyttelton on Saturday, that he foil off the train, and that he rolled to the foot of the embankment, where the body was found. ' MAORI GIRL BURNED. WAIROA, Oct. 24. A Native girl named Paeroa Whaanga, aged ten years, was fatally burned at Nuhaka on Saturday. BURNED TO DEATH. AUCKLAND, Oct. 24. John Richards, a single man, was burned to death in a whare at Kakahi on Sunday morning. No relatives are known.' The whole body was incinerated except a small portion of the trunk. A shooting fatality occurred at Moonlight, near Blackball, yesterday, when two lads were out shooting. ■ One named Noonan accidentally shot his companion, John Turner, aged 17, through tho head. Death was instantaneous.
