WAITARA WEST ROAD BOARD.

At the monthly meeting of the above Board there were present Mr S. Turnbull (chairman), Messrs Connett, Smith, Western, and Yule. Correspondence was read from the Treasury stating that tho £100 portion of Davis Road loan had been forwarded. Surfaceman Palmer reported that »Mr Richards had completed his Cross Road contract and had started the To Arei Road [metalling. Timber was required for repairs to bridges on Cross and York j Roads. Surfaceman Paul .reported that Griffiths'' Hill on Richmond Road had been formed, Sisson" Terrace ploughed and harrowed, and Smith Street in Lepperton township formed. The clerk was directed to inform Mr Roy that Mr Bowman's fence by Kelly Road deviation had been put in its right place; also to write to Egmont Road Board and request payment of the amount due for tho use of the grader on the lower end of Corbett Road. Mr Sgjith reported that the contractor would only deliver 200 yards of metal at the contract price, of 5s per yard on the Te Arie Road, but would supply any further quantity required at 6s. It was decided to agree to this, Mr Smith to arrange with the contractor. The surfaceman was directed to widen the cutting on the hill by the Native ground on the Wortley Road at a cost of not more than £2, the Nativesi to do the balance of the work required free of charge. The clerk was directed to sue for all outstanding rates. It was decided to procure the timber required for repairs to bridges from Mr G. Hall. Accounts amounting to £190 were passed for payment and the Board adjourned.
