A QUEER VERDICT.

DREYFUS' S ASSAILANT ACQUITTED. By Electric Telegraph. — Copyright. PARIS, Sept. 12. The jury at Seine acquitted Gregori of the charge of attempting to murder Colonel Dreyfus at the conclusion of the ceremony of the Zola State funeral in Paris in June last. [It hardly seems possible that Dreyfus's assailant will be allowed to go free. His crime was committed in the most open publicity. Colonel Dreyfus, who owes his refutation of the sensational charges laid against^him some years ago largely to the agitation of Emile Zola, was one of the most conspicuous spectators at the ceremony in the Pantheon over Zola's remains. At this ceremony Gregori, a journalist who acts as military correspondent to one of the Paris papers, deliberately shot at Dreyfus and wounded him in the wrist.]
