CHARGES AGAINST CANON NASH.

Clarke, of Melbourne, claims thatJie has obtained evidence of serious misconduct which he considers justifies him in maintaining his refusal to grant Canon Nash a license for Christ Church, Geelong. Replying to an interviewer, the Archbishop said that, as^Geelong was the diocesan educational centre, it became specially necessary that the incumbent of Christ Church should be a man of robust moral strength.

[An effort has. recently been made to prove Canon Nash innocent. Mr J. S. Faulkner, of Geelong, was sent to England by sympatniserj3 to investigate the charges of misconduct. He states that he has not been a,ble tp find a trace of anything to justify a charge of any kind against Mr Nash. Dr. Moule, Bishop of Durham, has informed ' Mr Faulkner that he cannot recall the soiu-ce of his statement to the Archbishop of Sydney in regard to misconduct on the part of Mr Nash,.
