Messrs Webster Bros. 5 report : —
We held our usual sale on Saturday, and had a very good entry of poultry. Prices were well • maintained, if anything higher, as under: — Hens Is 6d to Is lOd, pullets Is 9d to 2s lOd, chicks 9d to lid, ducks 2s to 2s 6d. There is an increased demand for young poultry. We can now assure full competition for poultry consigned to us.
Fruit is still scarce. We quote: — Cooking apples 2d to 4d, prime dessert Nelsons 7s 6d to 9s.
