STRIKE ABANDONED.
United Press Association — By Electric Telegraph. — Copyright. CAPETOWN, July 19. Tho executive of the Miners' Association at Johannesburg decided, by a large majority, to declare the strike off, though the announcement of the fact was postponed.
AN UNNECESSARY APPEAL.
LONDON, July 19.
At the instance of Mr R. L. Outhwaite, the Parliamentary Committee of the British Trades' Union Congress appealed to the trade unions to assist the Rand strikers.
