Egmont Village.

(From Our Own Correspondeat.) , • The annual concert in aid of the funds for prizes for the children attending ■ the Egniont Village School -was Iheld on Friday, 12th Juno. There was an. excellent attendance, and the programme -.which was a lengthy one was also . excellent. The • chair was taken by Mr- Morton, a member of the Education Board. The* items of ike programme were. — Overture, orchestra; song, -Mr .F. Price ; song,' Miss May Marsh ; song, Mr G. Taylor; gramaphone selection ; song, Mr G. Beadle ; recitation, "Mr Riggal, song, ' Mr Robertshaw ; gramaphone selection ; song. Miss Price ;•. reading,, Mr Morton; duet, G. and H. Beadle'; gramaphone selection ; selection, orchestra. Part II. — Selection, orchestra ; song, Mr 11. Beadle ; duet, ' Misses Bielby ,* gramaphone selection ; song, Mr Robertshaw; song, Miss Carr ; violin solo, Miss Nellie Gibson ; song, Miss Price ; song, Mr . F, Price ; recitation, Mrs Ansford ; song, Mr G. Taylor ; song, Miss Kenny ; song, Mr G. Beadle ; selection, orchestra ; "God Save the King-.", -The orchestra was" under tho conductorship of Mr G. Marsh, and acquitted " themselves remarkably well. The members were Miss Bielby, piano, Miss N. Gibson, Mr G. Marsh, Master Gordon Marsh, Mr D. Prjjce, and Mr F. Yeates, violins ; Mr R. Marsh cello. The gramaphono was kindly supplied by Mr J. Henderson, who superintended its , performances. After the concert a dance took place and was well patronised. Mr F. Price acted as M.C., the music being supplied by Mr G.~ Marsh. It was announced that another concert would be held shortly at which the distribution; of prizes would be "made. It having been. impossible, by reason of bad weather, to hold the ordinary monthly meeting of the Fanners' Union, a special meeting of the Egmont Village branch was held on Tuesday evening, the 16th inst., at which the order paper for the Provincial Conference was considered^ and thefeeling of the members present was taken on the various questions to be j submitted for consideration. Mr Morton, the chairman of tho j branch, was appointed the delegate to (attend the Conference.
