BELL BLOCK.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) A farewell social to Mr H. Salway who has left this district for 'Waikato was held in the Ball on Tuesday, A'pnl 28ih and was a great sfuceess, visitors being present from New Plymouth and surrounding .districts. Sotogs were eiven 'by Misses Murphy, Goodwin (Auckland) and Mrs Ifoby and Mr Perry and, a violin solo by Master Percy Sole all of which were greatly appreciated. During the evening Mr J S Conneit on behalf of friends ami admirers presented Mr Solway with a very nice Gladstone bag. After the presentation all sang "For he's a iolly good fellow/ The social was pronounced by all to be one of the nicest held here. The Wai monthly social m aid of the hall lunds takes place on Thursday nexi,> May 14. These socials seem to be much appreciated.
