♦ THE INDIAN TROOPS DELATED. United Press Association — By Klectne Telegraph.— Copyright. .Received January 28, 11.22 p.m. Melbourne, January 28. — The Second Dragoon Guards with the Imperial Contingent are instructed to proceed to South Africa, and leare about February Uth with the Fifth Contingent. Speaking with regard to the visit of the troops to New Zealand, Mr Seddon states that the Britannic will leave to* morrow night, but the Dalhousie, with the Indian Contingent, is unable, owing to 1 the necessity for repairs, to leave till Wednesday or Thursday. As she is only \ 10-knot boat, she would only catch the Britannic at Lyttelton, and this would prevent Southland and Otago from seeing them. Mr Seddon has therefore sug gested that the Dalhousie shall go to the Bluff, even though some days after^. and the men be trained through Dunedin to Christchurch. Mr Seddon returns to Sydney on Friday, and sails by the Monowai.
