THE RESOLUTION OF SYMPATHY.

On resuming on Thursday, on the ■notion of the Chairman, seconded by Mr tfackay, the following resolution was passed : — " That the members of the Board desire to place on record the extreme regret, witn which they received intelligence of the demise of Her Most Gracious Majesty the Queen, and their sympathy with the Royal Family in their bereavement, to bear grateful testimony to the manifold blessings, it has pleased ' The Only Ruler of Princes " to confer on the Mother-Land, and the rest of the Empire, through tho instrumentality of Her late beloved Majesty during her long and beneficient reign ; and.' to acknowledge with thankfulness* the noble example sin has set her subjects as wife and mother, and the singular devdtion with which she gave herself to the service of her people, notwithstanding the many sorrows, tnalß, and bereavements she had to endure by the way." The Secretary was instructed to for ward a copy of the above resolution to the Premier, with the request that he submit the same to the Governor. The revision of teachers' salaries, as recommended by the Department, was referred to the Finance Committee for their report. Miss L. Isles was appointed teacher of the Kaimate School, in pursuance of the Committee's recommendation. Mr Maokay moved, and'it was carried, " That out of respect to our late Most Gracious Sovereign, the Board adjourn till the 30th instant.
