EDUCATION BOARD.

The Board met on Wednesday. Present : Mr McAllum (chairman), Miss Heywood, Messrs, Adlam, Wade, Allsworth, Mackay, Kennedy, Faull, and Hignett. The Architect reported that good pro gress was being made with the painting contract : that the Egmont Road School required inside painting (at an estimatoJ cost of £13) ; that good progress was be ing made with the erection of. the Stratford school ; that the painting at Egmont Road will be attended to. The architect was instructed to procure & new tank for the Fraukley Road residence, and have the windows at the school made to opeu at the top. The Commissioner, in reply to his complaint as to the out-offices, was recommended to use lime plentifully* Mr Kitchingman's resignation at Rahotu was accepted as from the 31st inst. The New Plymouth Committee applied for the Courtenay-street fence to be painted, and intimated that they were willing to attend to the necessary repairs.
